Aventon Abound LR with two kids: setup options

The Aventon Abound LR carries two kids comfortably. There are a few ways to set it up depending on the ages of your kids and how much cargo you need. Here's what works.

The Abound LR's long rear rack is what makes two-kid setups possible. The right configuration depends on how old your kids are, whether you need cargo space, and how long your rides tend to be. All three setups below work well — it just comes down to your family.

Setup 1

Aventon child carrying kit

Aventon's own child carrying kit is designed specifically for the Abound LR and fits two kids on the rear rack. It's the most integrated option — everything is sized and positioned for the bike, and it installs cleanly without adapters.

Best for families who want a purpose-built solution straight from Aventon.

Setup 2

Two bike seats with extender rack

Two individual child bike seats mounted on the rear rack — one at the front of the rack, one further back using an extender. Each kid has their own seat with a harness. Good for kids who prefer their own space, or when one is older and one is younger.

Setup 3

Pizza rack with milk crate

A pizza rack mounted to the rear gives you a flat platform, and a milk crate zip-tied or bolted on top gives you a surprisingly capable cargo setup. Not a kid-carrying configuration, but a great option when you need to haul groceries, gear, or school bags alongside a single child seat up front.

Not sure which setup is right for your family? Come by the shop — we have the Abound LR set up and can walk you through the options in person. Bring the kids if you can.
